1976 AMC Pacer, Pearl Oyster mushrooms, fabric, straw, humidifier, hygrometer, fan, Arduino

Pearl Oyster mushrooms grow from the interior of a 1976 AMC Pacer. Considering the car as a symbol of human individualism, independence, mobility, wealth and status, these associations are subverted as the car is consumed by a fungal body. Poignantly, oyster mushrooms are used to clean up oil spills foreshadowing who may actually survive the Anthropocene.
